Lonely River Sims: Legacy Family House

Technically this isn't a chapter, just a preview of the new legacy house I built. Unfortunately my computer has had it up to here with large lots and custom content, so the game has now become unplayable. I should have a new marvellously cutting-edge computer in around March though so the great house I've built for the Legacy family will have to wait until then to be played with.

True to her word, the next morning Katie came over, ostensibly for Sunday brunch, but she winked at Margaret as she walked in. Margaret was about to close the door after her but a voice said, “Hey, what about me?”
“Alex!” she squealed and ran down to hug her best friend.
“Hey Margaret… uh, sis,” he said hesitantly. She punched him on the arm.
“Ow, what was that for?” he asked, rubbing his arm in mock pain.
“Just for not telling me the second you found out. Now we’re even,” she said airily.
“Women!” Alex said, throwing his hands up in the air. He dodged another punch and ran into the house, Margaret hot on his heels.

Jane-5 had come through on her promise to get Margaret her mother’s phone number, but so far it hadn’t helped Margaret at all. She’d been trying to call Tamara for days and each time she called she’d been hung up on. At first Tamara had babbled something about grilled cheese before hanging up, but 12 calls later she’d skipped directly to the hanging up part.

While Margaret has been lamenting her lack of a perfect teenage life, her Aunt Katherine and Uncle Thomas have been graduating from Académie Le Tour and leaving behind the Greek House they founded, Fruhm Fruhm. Two of their newer members are still there, keeping the house open for the next batch of Lonely River college students.

With Tamara driving off to who knows where in the middle of the night, Timothy found himself in the same awkward position as his mother so many years ago when she’d had to explain to him about the divorce. Ironically, his parents had divorced just after he’d become a teenager as well.

Another day, another birthday party. This time it was Margaret’s turn and she had all her favourite people there. There was her family at home of course, Mummy and Daddy, Jane-5 and Anthony, who had a birthday the other day, but Mummy and Daddy had been too busy not talking to each other to take pictures.

It’s the morning after Alex’s birthday and Timothy still hasn’t gone home. For some reason the big dork decided that it’d be a good idea to park himself on the couch and watch cartoons in his underwear. Fortunately Alex has already left for school so wasn’t at risk at having his eyeballs seared out of their sockets.

It was getting late. Alex’s birthday party had gone well, he’d accepted the news that Timothy was his father so calmly that Katie thought her heart would burst with pride, and Katie and Timothy had retreated to Katie’s bedroom to talk. Well that was the plan anyway. They sat close together, each desperately trying to think of what to say, and second-guess what the other would say. The silence had already turned awkward several minutes ago.

It's always been just Mum and me in this house for as long as I can remember. She's a great mum - not the best with remembering things like keeping the fridge stocked, but she never dressed me in dorky clothes, she plays SSX3 better than anybody, and is always heaps of fun. All the kids at school are jealous that I've got the cool, pretty mother. She always jokes that I'm the only man in her life she needs, but I know that's not true. Ever since I can remember there's always been another man in our life.
