Miscellaneous posts that don’t fit anywhere else.

Thought I’d written a post about this here, but apparently not. Huh. Anyway, my poor sims have been neglected lately, partly because of the whole moving in process, then trying to get ADSL, then discovering that the ADSL connection isn’t as good as advertised in our area, then trying to swap ISP’s etc etc. And then there’s the big reason: I’m getting married in less than a month!

Gory details are on Purrycat.com (I know, it’s annoying… thinking of combining all my blogs when things settle down), but suffice to say that we moved in and I was proposed to on the same day, and now we’re getting married on the 1st September. Yes, this year. Ack. Some extra time would have been great because I’m only just starting to get into it properly and get cool ideas, but it works out better for family who might otherwise be stuck overseas. And let’s face it: I’m not really that hung on the wedding itself; I just want to be married.

I’d have been playing my Legacy family to unwind, but unfortunately the timing really stinks. I did a bit of a cull of the custom content which apparently made the Legacy lot unplayable which meant designing a new house. Then there’s been the transition to having weather and trying to get my Lonely River sims to sync again in terms of what day they’re on, something I got a little lax in it seems. And now I’m up to planning Timothy and Katie’s inevitable wedding which really isn’t my idea of unwinding right now. Because sure, I’ll take a break from planning my own wedding to planning my sims wedding. Oh joy. I feel very relaxed now! lol

I’m so looking forward to life getting back to normal :)

Just a quite post to say that yes, I am still in existence and no, I don’t have a new computer yet. As a matter of a fact, I don’t have a new house yet and I’m still temporarily living with my parents until my partner and I can find a new house here in Canberra. Prices are crazy, but I’ve already ranted enough about that on my main site.

Things are sort of settling down now that Ben’s gone back to work and I have more access to the computer. Luckily I thought I might not have time to finish uploading the rest of the Asylum Challenge before I flew down to Canberra, so I did upload the text to Google Docs and the images to Photobucket. Now I’m just piecing them together. I’ve got one almost ready which I’ll throw up this afternoon and hopefully the rest will follow in quick succession. This lovely Canberra weather has given me a cold though and I’ve got a bit of housework catch-up to do, so I’ll see how I feel.

I’ve been making a few blog posts, getting hooked on Twitter and Virb, all in an effort to try and test drive being a little more sociable. I really hate the guilt that comes with being on email groups and realising you haven’t stuck your head in for a while. I figure that if I can successfully post regularly enough to a more or less empty vortex then it should be a short step to being able to regularly read and reply to emails right? Fingers crossed ;)

Oh and in case the “empty vortex” is interested my Virb address is http://www.virb.com/purrycat and you can follow me on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/purrycat. Although I’m not receiving the messages on my phone right now since they’re updating the Australian phone number, so it’s harder to remember to update on it right now. Hopefully it will be fixed soon so the empty vortex that is the internet can resume being fascinated by the number of times I sneezed today thanks to this stupid head cold ;)

Recall the search parties!

Yeah I know, I’ve been “missing in action” for quite a while. It’s something of a combination of that pesky real life and my computer annoying the <insert expletive here> out of me.

Long post follows!!
