Open For Business Legacy Changes
Existing rule changes:
All NPCs are now worth only 1 point, regardless of type.
One new NPC has been added to the list: The Reporter.
There are two new ghosts for the ghost bonus: Death by elevator and death by rally-forth.
The new methods of being electrocuted (evil kites and servo running amok) still only count as electrocution deaths.
New rules:
You may start and own any business, home-based or community lot. There are no restrictions on what type of business you run. You may buy business from other players.
You may only “Pass on” earned business perks to members of the family bloodline. This includes the current generation’s spouse (or breeding partner if only moved in) and any biological children, heir(ess) or otherwise.
Servos: There are no restrictions on servos on the lot. You may build them or buy them from other businesses. They do NOT count as family bloodline, even if an heir(ess) activated or build them. Servos may earn the family any legacy points that are not dependant on bloodline (such as impossible wants)
Buying from player-owned stores: You may buy anything from a player-owned store, but it must be priced “Cheap” or higher. This is to prevent abuses of ultra-cheap items. Your own stores may set prices however they wish.
You may not buy items from your Legacy family stores while playing as another family. This is to prevent making your Legacy Family richer at the expense of another family. It is OK, however to have player-created sims come and shop at you store as NPCs (as you have to sell them the items then, and earn their business).
New scoring:
Family business bonus
The “Family Business” is the first business started by the Legacy Family. The sim starting the business must be a member of the family bloodline, but does not need to be the founder.
You score 1 point for each generation the business is in the family. (Including the founding generation) If at ANY time, ownership of the business falls into the hands of a sim not part of the family bloodline, the entire bonus is lost. Businesses may started after the first one, and may be bought or sold without affecting this bonus. The “Family Business” may be home-based or on a community lot.
Heart of Business
3 points if founder is able to earn all 25 perks before they die. You are not eligible for this bonus if the founder uses any elixir of life, or becomes a zombie or vampire at any time.
Pharaoh bonus:
1 point for each member of the bloodline that dies a platinum death with all 7 gold badges. This is in addition to any other bonuses the death of the sim brings.
Tycoon bonus:
1 point for each member of the bloodline that dies a platinum death with all 25 business perks. These perks may be self-earned or taught by another in life. This is in addition to any other bonuses the death of the sim brings.
Polished Gems:
1 point for each rank 10 business that the family owns, this can include the “family” business, plus any others started afterwards. This bonus only counts as long as the family owns it.
